Update from Martha

Dear Family and Friends,

We're awaking to a beautiful day in Ollanta. During the night, the rain was a lullaby. I've only now awakened the kids and they report having slept very well. We have passed through the initial stomach and headaches of arrival. Our families are taking such great care of us. Yesterday, the Full Moon group visited the ruins above Ollanta and then worked at Puente Inca to help protect houses from flooding. The Inca's Garden group worked at the elementary school preparing the garden in the quad and in the afternoon discovered the village through a global issues scavenger hunt. We're beginning to feel the rhythm of the trip now. I'm impressed by the depth of observations being made by students. We're seeing emerging leadership in all of its many forms. And, we're having lots of silly fun, too. Our WLS instructors are awesome. We can feel your well wishes and really appreciate them so much.

Love,
Martha

P.S. to Parents - Everyone is feeling good and participating fully. Your children are making you proud!
